One glance at this gorgeous lady and you’ll know she’s born to shine in the glamour world. Deepika Padukone was born to Prakash and Ujjala Padukone in Copenhagen, Denmark. Prakash Padukone, a top world level badminton player then was at that time training there but he, along with his family shifted to Bangalore, India at the eleventh month of Deepika’s existence. We are all grateful as otherwise Deepika would be such a waste somewhere else! Deepika herself has played badminton at the state level but not very interested in taking it up as a career, after completing her pre- university studies from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore, she took up modelling as her first step in the glamour world.
The glam beauty has come a long way from being a badminton player’s daughter to being a model and landing herself in movies like Om Shanti Om, Love Aaj Kal and Cocktail. The diva with a sexy figure carries off almost any outfit with ease and comfort, appearing stunning at the same time. But she seems to have a certain soft corner for the six yards of the Indian traditional attire. Over the years we have seen her turning up in a saree in various award shows, promotional shows and photo shoots and she clearly justifies the fact that the saree brings out the best of a woman’s beauty. In fact Deepika is one of those few people who chose to walk the red carpet at Cannes in a saree. She was spotted in a Rohit Bal creation of white colour with golden works and her earrings, bindi and the golden clutch gave her a picture perfect look. The colour white seems to be close to her heart and most of the time she turns up in a saree of the same colour.
While searching for more details on the internet, I came across a link which said ‘Click here for Deepika Padukone saree pics’. On clicking, the link redirected me to an article which said that at a recent public function, Deepika was seen sporting a pale white saree with a black long sleeved blouse, all the creation of the ace designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee which supposedly borne an uncanny similarity to the one which Vidya Balan was seen in. With rumours of Deepika Padukone in a saree trying to imitate Vidya Balan, I wonder if Vidya Balan could take her revenge on her by sporting shorts, Deepika’s favourite. Deepika Padukone in a saree looks even more alluring because of her towering structure and her slim figure with the perfect curves. Till date on various occasions, Deepika has been found wearing different varieties of the traditional couture like peach coloured sheer ones, the ones with the bling, the lacy and the embellished ones. In her recent appearance on the sets of Nach Baliye, Deepika was seen sporting a beautiful white lehenga saree designed by Anand Kabra. With gota patti work on the choli and with an impeccable make up on, she could not have looked better.
